About The OA Girl

This blog is meant to shed light on mental illness, to help those suffering feel not alone, and for those who don’t suffer, try to help them understand what it’s like from an inside perspective.

I presently suffer from Bipolar, Social Anxiety, PTSD (Chronic) and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) – specifically Scrupulosity/Religious OCD (aka Spiritual OCD). I am middle aged and have struggled since a traumatic childhood. Unfortunately, I have experienced more trauma since then.

I am a wife, mother to an autistic son, a devout Christian, a mixed media artist, a loving, caring person who has moral, mental, and physical struggles.

I am faced with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, Fibromyalgia, and other health struggles. There are many challenges that come with sometimes severe physical issues, and I share what works for me, and what does not.
